Screaming.

She screams herself to sleep,
Almost every night.
She screams for him,
But he has yet to come.
Screaming until her throat
Burns.
Screaming until her mouth
Goes dry.
She screams as if someone
Had stabbed her,
Or as if she had stood there
And watched him die.

Even though she screams as
Loud as she can,
She doesn't believe anyone
Can hear her.

And so she keeps going.
Her throat red,
Her voice raspy.

To her screaming, is relief.
She lets it all out.
All the hurt, the loneliness.
